Questions & Answers

Do you handle problems that the ederly have or do you have a number I can call?

You can reach our Aging and Adult Services dept. at 816-421-4980 or 800-593-7948. When older adults need help in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counties, we are the first call. We encourage, coordinate, and deliver community-based services that link local, public, private, voluntary, and corporate resources. An older adult may have resources to arrange for assistance from others, such as a network of family, friends, and neighbors. But an older adult who is unable to meet particular needs through such an informal network must increasingly draw upon support from the larger community. This outside support may include a hot meal enjoyed with friends in the community, transportation to the doctor, home-delivered meals, or services that help older people live how and where they wish.

Does Marc have any authority with RideKC?

Lloyd Hardin | Sep 3, 2021
Mid-America Regional Council | Sep 3, 2021

Hi Lloyd, MARC does not have authority with RideKC. RideKC is one of the many organizations we collaborate with to promote regional cooperation through leadership, planning and action.

I recently read that MARC is no longer the lead for the Greater KC Coilition to End Homelessness. This as of April this year. Can you advise why that is, please?

Patrick Devine | Sep 3, 2020

Hi Patrick, last June the Greater KC Coalition to End Homelessness put out a request for proposals seeking applications for an HMIS Lead Agency. MARC submitted a proposal to continue as the lead agency. In November a decision was announced that GKCCEH as Co-lead agency, appointed themselves as HMIS lead agency. April 3rd was the final day that MARC supported GKCCEH as their HMIS Lead Agency. MARC continues as the HMIS Lead Agency for Johnson County. We’re proud of the opportunity we had to serve as HMIS Lead Agency during the inaugural years of HMIS in the Kansas City area and of May 2020 National Homelessness Information Project (NHIP) ranking of 2018 System Performance Measures: -For Large Cities: GKCCEH was listed as one of the TOP 4 MOST IMPROVED. -For CoC Small Cities/Suburban/Rural Counties: Community Services of Johnson County RANKED #2. Take care.
