Best place I've ever lived. Very clean and expertly maintained, there is also a friendly feel around the building that gives you a sense of "oasis of calm" inside the city. I can't overstate how much I enjoy living across the street from a grocery store. Instead of filling my freezer and fridge with things that I might forget to eat I end up cooking FRESH ingredients I bought twenty minutes before. Lisa and DJ don't just care about their work they care about me and the maintenance staff of Lloyd and Saul take pride in their work too. I believe they are even adding an Infrared Sauna for the community (I'm hoping) and improving the experience that much more!

Leaving this review because, while I opted not to move to Sherman Oaks, (1) the complex and apartments are gorgeous and well laid out, and (2) the staff--especially Karim in the leasing office--are fantastic. Even on his day off, Karim was extremely responsive and helpful. He (and everyone, from the cleaning lady to the building manager) created such a welcoming environment from start to finish. He was patient and thorough, and also gave me some great ideas about how I could furnish their units to maximize functionality! If I decide to move to the valley, this place will be at the top of my list. Thanks for *truly* working to make your community resident-friendly!

I moved into the Alister this week. I had been apartment hunting for about two months now, and I was torn between two apartment complexes. I picked the Alister because of the location, small community, renovated units, but the deciding factor was the management. The unit: I fell in love with the unit as soon as I walked in. It has a huge open floor plan large kitchen, and very modern appeal. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the closet space, but I'm getting an extra closet wardrobe for the room so that shouldn't be a problem. The pool and gym are small but well kept. Parking is convenient and in a garage, which is nice. As for the management, Kathy and Maggie have been phenomenal. Kathy is probably the most responsive and efficient apartment manager I've encountered. I can be very picky, and my requests can be quite annoying and detailed, but she's been nothing but patient, sweet, and very professional. She's made this experience so easy and smooth. It's critical to be happy with the management if you're going to be living there and I'm lucky to have great management at this complex. Thank you Alister, Kathy and Maggie- I'll be stopping by the lobby office to say hello often. Lol

Welcome to the definition of Ghetto. “Ghetto (n.) an impoverished, neglected, or otherwise disadvantaged residential area of a city, usually troubled by a disproportionately large amount of crime”. This is by far the worst apartment complex in the city of Los Angeles. I am not only a current resident but I recently quit working for this company (the leasing office to be exact) because of their lack of attention to current tenants, a building that is falling apart, and a management team that has no respect for their tenants. Today, I am commenting here as a current resident and not as an ex-employee (because we don’t even want to go there). First of all, I happen to know most of the residents who live here in the building, and that’s because I spent a good amount of time in the leasing office where I used to listen to residents’ daily unresolved and unattended complaints. There’s no way in the world anybody who lives here will give a 5 or even 2 star to this so called luxury dump. This is a living hell on its own with absolutely no compassion from the management. All they care about is leasing units and once you are in, you are on your own. If you have any issues with the building which I can assure you that you will, and when you try to resolve them with the leasing office, you are treated like a piece of garbage. The only way they will finally do anything is when you involve a lawyer or lawsuit, which is exactly what I’m doing right now. This building is being advertised as a smoke-free building but there are more smokers here than there are in a Vegas Casino. I’ve been living here since July and the problems have been endless with no resolution. First and most obvious is the smoking situation, and specifically how my apartment, and many other apartments in the building are impacted. I have a smoker directly beneath me, and the smoke comes through the wall outlets as well as the tenants exhaust fan directly into my apartment. This is not inconsistent smoke - this is smoke on a daily basis, and often throughout the night. It is making me physically ill, and I have had to seek medical advice. Secondly, the water shut-offs are completely unacceptable. They happen often without warning and much too frequently. I’ve been caught mid-shower on numerous occasions when suddenly the water is turned off in the middle of the day without warning. Thirdly, the hallways and carpets are absolutely disgusting. They are seldom cleaned, full of pet stains, and smell so awfully (See attached photos). The trash situation is even worse. There is a constant disgusting odor coming from all the trash chutes as well as trash sitting uncollected in the garage. Today is January 12th and as of this morning’s count, there are close to a dozen discarded Christmas trees in the garage and on surrounding property areas. Mill Creek knows exactly what it can get away with. I’ve never seen a building so poorly taken care of and a management so disrespectful of its tenants and I have been in this business for almost 8 years. Can’t wait to move out in March.
