Rick is the best Luthier and Guitar Tech I've come across out here. I've had him set up 5 of my guitars so far and have trusted him completely with each one. I had a Studio Les Paul that sounded like the Low E string was buzzing but when I played it and looked at the frets closely I couldn't see it hitting anywhere. Was driving me crazy. When I took it to Rick he immediately noticed the string wasn't sitting inside the nut as well as it should have been and took a file and fixed it with one light swipe. In my 30 plus years playing that was a new one on me! His services are greatly in demand and typically has 6 week waiting list. I'm never in a rush so this is fine for me. If you take your guitar to him he'll make sure you're happy with his work. And if something changes with your guitar after you get home you can come back and he'll fix it for you right away. You just have to get on his list first 👍🏻

Rick is very good at what he does. He has a pretty big queue so if you have a job you want him to take, let him know about it as early as you can. You can at least be in line. I got my vintage japanese tele custom fitted with a mint pickguard and he even helped with rearranging the pickups. Highly recommend.

When you go in for guitar set up and get told the tech is running 20 minutes late. No problem things happen. Then you go back 45 minutes later only to stand around the counter for 15 minutes while two employees go about their business without even acknowledging your presence what do you do? You leave and spend your money somewhere else. Pretty bummed out with this experience.

Went in yesterday because my guitar had a problem two other shops couldn’t diagnose. Rick fixed it in five minutes and didn’t charge me a dime. He is a busy dude, which tells me he must be good and the fact that he took his time to help me for free, lifetime customer. I made an appointment 3 weeks out for him to upgrade all the electronics in my gretsch, that level of expertise and customer service is worth the wait!

How much would it cost to do a basic setup on a guitar? I have a Schecter Hellraiser with a Tune-O-Matic bridge and it does a weird buzz everytime I palm mute on the 2nd fret

A setup is typically around $80-$95 but can vary depending on the guitar. Feel free to text or call me for any more info. Thanks Rick (714)510-2641
