Neely is the consummate professional. I acquired a ‘61 Les Paul from my father that had over 1500 gigs played on it. It was road worn and had fractured neck. Not only is this instrument a vintage relic, it is full of history and nostalgia. I brought the guitar to Neely from Austin, Texas. He was the only luthier that I trusted with this delicate work. He communicated with me through the process and I picked it up yesterday. The work is remarkable! It plays beautifully. Couldn’t ask for a better job. Thank you David. Can I give 10 stars???

I was happy to be gifted a nice Martin acoustic but after a day or two I had fret buzzing issues. I left the guitar in David's hands & he immediately noticed the wood was a bit dry, action was too low & fret edges were rough. After the repair, I was totally pleased, no more fret buzz, excellent action setup & fret edges were dressed & smooth on the hands when moving up and down the fretboard

I’ve been going to David since 2002.... He has worked on every guitar I’ve owned...vintage Gibson LP, Fender Custom Shop, Jackson, Carvin, Kiesel, Kramer, etc. He is the BEST of the BEST at what he does...make your guitars to play like they were meant to be. Anytime I buy a guitar...new or used...I take them all to David. He can set them up perfect...make them better than the factory set up and he can do a long list of custom work from swapping out pickups and electronics to factory warranty jobs. He’s authorized by just about all the manufacturers! If you’re within 2 hours from his ship...I highly recommend David. He’s definitely worth the drive. Thanks David for everything! I’ll be seeing you very soon!

LA being such an active music city, there is an intimidating number of shops and luthiers to sort through when your guitar needs work. But now the search is over! David does the best professional guitar repairs and setups of any shop in LA, bar none. You can drop your guitar off and receive a thorough diagnosis of the problem, the price quoted accurately upfront, and the timeline laid out for you with total transparency. Other reviewers have noted that Neely charges more for service than some of the chains and larger repair services in the city, but the difference in cost is seriously negligible for the quality of service and the peace of mind. My Telecaster, which was all out of whack when I bought it used off Facebook, looks and feels brand new. David made insanely fine adjustments to the nut that I already had when another shop had insisted that I needed to replace it with one of their custom nuts, which cost $90 apiece. Couldn’t be more pleased to have found the best spot to take my guitars in LA. Also David is just an awesome guy who you’ll be glad to have met.

300. But honestly it depends. He's cool like that.
It's a big job....the frets come out, the channel gets cut, the binding goes on, then the refret.
Very safe....vaccinated and always test negative.
Why sure, come on over when ready!
Are you going to dismantle and reassemble?
