A unique part of our local open space and parks. Only area in the Santa Monica Mountains with beautiful red rock formations and interesting small caves and a creek to explore. Lots of beauty on the drive in, and just a short hike from the parking lot. There is a small picnic area, and the main trail connects with many other trails, allowing for a wide variety of hikes ranging from easy to strenuous. Plenty of rocks to boulder or climb, and lots of great views and flowers in season. Pay lot is small, but reasonable at $5. Definitely a nice, quiet place to explore.

It’s a great park for an easy walk in nature. Parking is cheap but not many spots (20-30 in total)

This is an excellent, casual natural park to come to hike or picnic! The main road to the parking lot becomes an unmaintained dirt road for the last bit, so I wouldn't recommend driving all the way over if you have a car with low clearance. Parking at the lot is $5. There are a few side trails to explore off the main Red Rock Access road, but that road eventually keeps going to connect with the Calabasas Peak Trail. The total elevation gain if you go all the way to the peak is about 1000 ft, so it is not too bad, but definitely bring water because there isn't much shade. The total round trip from the peak is about 4.5 to 5 miles. There are a few picnic benches near the bottom to snack or have lunch. Park is closed from sunset to sunrise.

Its a beautiful place, you will drive into a private residential at the end of the unpaved you will find the parking lot , parking cost$5. There is a machine in there you can paid with credit, there is one main trail which head it to many small trail that is not well maintained. But the main trail is wide clean ,easy to walk, is flat ; On the main trail you will find beautiful rock formation with character, duck,🦆 delfin,🐬 scary 😨face , heart ❤ unbelievable. The rock formation are very close to the parking lot less than one mile, several rocks are not well maintained there is a lot dried plants ,brushes around the rocks...the brushes make hard to take pic of the rocks, very easy walk I did 2 miles round trip. It was so hot 105°degrees 🔥🥵.

Questions & Answers

How do you find the rock formations like in the photos from Rina Ikeda? It seems.like a whole different place but a couple people have posted them. There is a video of someone driving right up to them. Where is that road?

I don't exactly remember the exact spot since there is no landmark to tell that you're close to it already. But the area is on the left side if you're going up. I can only remember we passed a picnic table on the right side when going up and it is close to that area. Just pay attention to the surrounding you'll notice also like a small stairs going up at the site. I hope this will help. Happy trekking!!!

Can someone take photos there?

No charge to enter. You are supposed to pay about $5 to park. You put the cash in an envelope you will find there, tear off the receipt to place on your dash, then put the envelope in the slot. There's instructions on a sign.
