In my experience, it takes months to get a building permit approved in the city of Hollywood. It is very difficulty to contact anyone knowledgable about the cause for persistent delay of approval.

If you get so unlucky and have a property in Hollywood to renovate or to close a permit violation, you are cursed. This city is the worst to deal with the permits, plan reviewers and inspectors. For ex. electrical inspector will come at least 5 times or more and each time he will tell you to fix something else and again something else and again, that he never said on 1st, 2nd, 3d or 4th inspections until you will be ready to go to court to sue them.

Zoning department has issues with everyone always . Engineering department seems like their staff isint trained correctly . The girls at the main building department division are great ! They are caring and will do everything to help you . They put a new cellphone booth for people to charge their phone .... Unfortunately they don't have the c cable for Samsung phones . Everyone seems to get upset ..

Cannot talk to anyone on the phone. Employees that input permitting paperwork are not experienced and miss live seal information causing contractor to have to go personally to the city building department to straighten out. Online information does not match what is actually required by the city for permitting. Once again causing the contractor to have to go down to the city to straighten out to find out exactly what is needed to get a permit through planning. When paying for permits online, permits are not released. Causing contractor make another trip down to the building department because no one will answer by phone. Information about pulling permits and the forms and paperwork are incorrect online. I've had to go down to the building department multiple times to straighten out things that are easily done by other building departments. the City of Hollywood can't seem to get it right. Very dissatisfied with the lack of help and responses that I have gotten from the people in permitting. As as a legitimate contractor this is very frustrating and causes me a lot of time and money and it makes me look bad to my customers when I have given them information on timing and can't follow through with my commitments because the City of Hollywood building department cannot be counted on to do what they say they are supposed to do. Extremely frustrated with no available.

A permit is needed for both tree removal and tree planting. And contractor will also be required. This is done through Landscaping in Engineering Department.
Not sure what the full scope or application is, but I believe that you should probably be looking at a storefront/curtain wall system. I.e. Kawneer, YKK. They both manufacture HVHZ Impact Rated systems.

Your contractor I believe
It can take up to 30 business days for a permit to be approved, it may take longer if there are corrections that need to be made to the plans/drawings/details/documents. An expedite request can be made at a cost of $225 per discipline/per cycle(Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical). Expedite reviews may take 2-3 days to be reviewed. If an expedite is requested, take into consideration that it may take additional time if there are other disciplines that need to review plans, as other disciplines do not offer expedite reviews.
You need to go to the zoning , speak to julian he will help you out
