May 2017: CM is a 100 unit complex for Low Income Seniors over 62 years old. The landlord, Towbes Group Inc., rents under the Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program accepting HUD Section 8 vouchers and the TCAC programs. Location, maintenance and the floor plan is about the only positive of this property. Recently, TG raised the rent of all of the Section 8 tenants by $200 per month. There is no ease of access for any handicapped in the common areas especially the pool and clubhouse. Annual Building inspections are nonexistent with no concern for many safety issues of blocked fire extinguishers and blocked access to natural gas in the water heater closets that are created by tenants personal property. The on-site property manager plus one administrative support are severely under qualified not being familiar with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations; lack interpersonal tenant communication skills; do not enforce terms of rental agreement and/or resolve tenant complaints; no follow-up after problems are reported; exhibit no courtesy and respect to tenants, i.e. talking down to tenants like they’re children, misinformation is standard procedure in a tone of “don’t bother us”. This is also true of contact with senior staff of the corporate office. The overall resident morale is very low. The Towbes Group operates with very low standards. I’ve lived in apartments most of my adult life and The Towbes Group/Cypress Meadows is the worst place I’ve ever lived.

I must say that I am absolutely appalled by a previous comment! I cannot comment on everything that was said, because there are too many complaints, except to say that everything was totally FALSE! Cypress Meadows Apartments, there are 104 apartments, is an efficiently managed facility where everyone is shown the utmost courtesy. The Management is knowledgeable and courteous and will go the extra mile to assist you. Maintenance is excellent and work is performed is a timely and efficient manner by our great Maintenance Crew., and Management always follows up to see that you were satisfied. The area is landscaped beautifully and maintained daily. The Swimming Pool is maintained professionally and the entire pool area is a nice relaxing area. All areas are Handicapped Accessible, and there are several wheelchair residents. Housing inspections are completed each year. I am very pleased to be a resident at Cypress Meadows Apartment. PS: I have lived here for nearly eight years, all enjoyable.
