Very beautiful park but please be aware of the spiders I didn’t see any caution signs for spiders at the park and not even 2 minutes into our nature walk a huge golden spider & web was face level & head level above 5’1 , but don’t let the spiders ruin your visit so try not to walk into their webs be very cautious. I enjoyed my visit , I do plan on going there again just wish the path way wasn’t blocked by a huge golden spider and it’s web. Also the park is so big some of the park isn’t maintained because we saw parts of the park closed off with a no trespassing signs that was fading away. If you want to see iguanas, spiders, turtles, butterflies or just nature in general I do recommend this park 🌺 Also I was able to capture a couple of pictures I will share with you guys. Rare Coontie Butterfly.

Really beautiful trails shaded by tall trees. There is an information building with an interesting presentation on the area. Outside there is a shaded deck all around the building with rocking chairs.

This is the second time I've visited the park. This park is quite large with plenty of walking trails in dense native South Floridian woods. Lots of cool areas to visit and explore in the park, such as Pioneer City. Very historical area.

Today was a gorgeous day for a nature walk through the hardwood hammock. Some of the trees are over 350 years old! I enjoyed the dirt trails that veered off the concrete path. Beautiful trees and vegetation, wildlife, lots of butterflies and an interesting structure with a water feature to sit by and relax. The nature center had some interesting exhibits as well.

Dogs allowed?
It was my first time there and though it was only 4pm the office had a "CLOSED" sign though it was to close at 5.. I walked around and many areas seemed to be closed off and couldn't find anyone to give me info on the park.
Dogs are allowed in the park but not on trails. Must be kept to parking lots/road areas and visitor centers.
