Our experience was so sad, the reservation was completely dried up and there was no warning or information about the lack of water. This also meant there were no fires. We definitely needed a warning!

This is a beautiful place. Right on the reservoir. In June the water level is low, leaving a nice beach, but too low to launch our boat. We had to use the concrete launch at Gull point campground. We were VERY disappointed in the number of ATVs roaring around the campground and up and down the beach. It totally marred our wilderness camping experience. So we won’t be back in the summer months....too noisy. There was also loud music playing constantly. One source was our neighbors truck, another may have been a triathlon taking place across the lake.... but it shouldn’t have been playing after midnight.

It is not officially open. You can camp there without charge but no services. Be respectful, clean up your spot and pack out your garbage. We experienced noisy "neighbors" a couple of weeks ago and they left a mess and damaged trees.
