Trails are NOT maintained, but there were some nice views. You will have to step over fallen trees and crawl through a tunnel of brush.

This is a lovely and well-kept park. I love that they are preserving all the historic buildings that are here. It's a very neat place to learn about history, particularly of Wayne County & early Goldsboro. Sunsets are beautiful from the trails.

I love this area. When my son was visiting I took him to see the old village there and he loved it. I later took my wife and she enjoyed it too. Its free and open to the public.

I agree but it would be nice if there were better trail markers.
Only when the Visitor Center is open. There are bathrooms in the back along the trails but during the cold weather they are closed to keep the pipes from freezing.
i fish there ...bout 3 times just walk down the river and fish. no problem
The parks are open from sunrise until sunset like all parks in NC
Buildings are open during our regular hours Mon-Sat 9-5 and Sun 1-5. The Hatch House is kept locked except for events. If you'd like to see it ask someone a the visitors center and they can show it to you.
Yes, they have awesome walking paths that you can walk your dogs on... and also when they have events out there you may bring your dogs
