Very mediocre and way overpriced. Service was slow too, but they only had one server for the entire place so it wasn’t the servers fault because he was nice and hustling as fast as he could. It’s not that it tasted bad, but the prices are just wayyy too expensive for what you get. I’ve had much better ramen for cheaper. They charge you $2 for an egg on top of an already $18 bowl of ramen. Skip the shishito peppers too if you are thinking about getting them and try the bao buns instead. I feel bad writing such a harsh review but it’s hard not to with all three: subpar food, expensive prices, and slow service.

A wonderful Ramen Shop, as always! Dinner menus are hand drawn and written, often menus we'll have different descriptions from each other. Very fun! A wide range of ramen types, from traditional to Exotic and expensive. I went on a limb and tried the chocolate Ramen, it was very interesting and very good! Still not sure if it was supposed to be a dessert Ramen. I love the risk and bold menu choice!

I have seen a lot of people recommending this place. I’d had it about a year ago and wasn’t that impressed at the time, but decided to give it another try a few days ago. I still I honestly don’t understand the hype! I was disappointed with what we got, especially for the price. There were barely any ingredients included in the bowl, only the meat and noodles basically. The chashu, which is usually pork belly in my experience, was a finely shaved pork shoulder (or something similar and barely any of it at that). We had to pay extra for eggs (which are often included at other places), and I paid $4 for a side of kimchi that should have been $1. All this could be overlooked if it was delicious, but I found the broth to be muddy and the noodles overcooked. I also felt really sick after eating it, which was a huge bummer. We both got the Ramen Star soup, but previously I’ve also had the Kimchi Ramen. I know takeout is different than eating at the restaurant, but ramen is one of my go-to foods for takeout typically, and I’ve never had an experience like this. Also given the ongoing situation of the pandemic, restaurants need to learn how to do takeout well if they plan to survive.

I revisited this place on Dec 13, 2021 and experienced the same friendly service. We came a little early, but the door was unlocked and we were greeted warmly and seated. I love visiting a place where I feel like they are happy working there and happy to serve me. The interior looked upgraded from my last visit. I loved the flooring and the wood panel on the wall. There was a big screen over the top of the kitchen entrance that had ambient coloring changing screens. The food and service was awesome as usual. Pricing seemed more expensive than my last visit, but since the pandemic, it's been my experience in other restaurants as well. I liked that the employees were masked.

Questions & Answers

I just noticed that when I go to order on Grub hub app that they charge $3 more than the menu price at the restaurant. Is this right?????

That's probably the cut grub hub is taking from each sale the restaurant has so they have to increase the prices to compensate

What are the Covid safety practices like here?

Very good. All seating is segregated by tall dividers making it feel like you have a private room. There is hand sanitizer by the front if you need it as you enter and exit. The bathrooms are clean and tables sanitized between uses. Servers where masks. Menus are posted on the wall of each table for a hands off experience if you don't want to use your phone. To-go orders are limited to staying in the front of the store only so nobody mixes with dine-in guests. Recently I've seen an increase in stand alone air filters to ensure cleaner air than just the main HVAC system.

Do they have gluten free options?

Yes, but they're limited. Rice noodles are available per request, but of the ramen bowls only the Shoyu is capable of being truly gluten-free. The risk of contamination is high, as the kitchen has a lot of gluten flying around. Salads and some apps are also available. Gluten sensitive: probably okay Gluten allergy: maybe not so much (I work here.)

Do they have vegetarian broth options?

Yes I've tried both. They are both good but the veggie miso was the best! Ordered extra noodle, extra hot and loved it! Good spot!
