Gorgeous architecture in and out and inside the mausoleum below. Enjoy some quiet contemplation in this lovely place. Kudos to all involved on any level as it appears to be a place engaging the community on many levels.

Can I say BEAUTIFUL?! This church (or should I say cathedral) evokes feelings of serenity, peace and light. We didn't come here for a regular service, actually was our friends' wedding, and with a small intimate crowd, felt even more cozy. We're gonna have to come back.

Serene and magical place to rest and contemplate life. Stunning cathedral with mausoleum that feels sacred. The space is so intentional. (Nice bathrooms and drinking fountain.) Free tour weekdays at 1pm.

Free to enter and take photos as long as service isn't happening. Great architectural features throughout the site. The interior is majestic and I recommend you take the time to take it all in. There is also a gift shop which is recommended. Be respectful of the space and enjoy!

Church is open all day till 8 pm. However, mass are only in the morning and afternoon. 7:45 am and 12:10 pm.
There is no mass, but the good friday service and the passion of the Christ starts at 12 noon.
It's open everyday. There is a scheduled tour every day at 1pm after mass.
There is one nain mass, right after 11 an confession time, mass starts at noon. Stay around and visiti the chappels on the side, pray a decade of the Rosary there. Ash Wednesday is and all day event. If church is not open in your local parish, ring the office, usually there is always volunteering.... usually a priest, but times are harsh... pray for vocations, and pray to encourage liders in church to embrace those vocations....Ash Wednesday is a symbol, an act, and a perseverance act.
2 Marriot locations: Coutyard by Marriot in Chinatown and Marriott City Center on 11th and Broadway. Great walking to view other highlights in the downtown Oakland areas. The Washington Inn boutique hotel on 10th Street in Old Oakland. Clarion Hotel on 13th Street, a closer walking distance with lots of restaurants and shops to view. Jack London Square offers 3 hotels: Waterfront Hotel, The Z, The Jack London Inn.
Christmas Eve is a wonderful night, most local parishes have one. This year, Christmas Eve is on Sunday, thus, a day of obligation, and should be the regular time of mass. For the Cathedral it should be 8am Vietnamese. 10 am (SOLEM MASS) English. 12 noon Tagalog, and 2pm Spanish. At NIGHT: 7pm Vietnamese, 10 PM SOLEMN MASS (Bishop Barber celebrates) where the Orchestra and the Men & Boys Choir will be signing. Blessings.
Yes, usually and most regularly, it is 7:30 in Vietnamese and 5:30 in English. Parking is free when parking at the Cathedral parking levels and attend mass or confession (Sat: 4:30 pm), let the attendant know, otherwise they charge 3 per 30min. (too expensive). But free if you go to service.
Yes, they do have.
Which one?
On Sunday, the day of obligation and of remembering the resurrection of the Lord, our Savior, the Mass begins about 3 minutes before 2 in the afternoon. But there is also a mass in Spanish on Wednesdays, 3 minutes before 7pm. Blessings. Note: Confessions, Tuesday and Thursday 11am, Wednesday 6pm. Saturday 4:30 (almost everything is English, in Spanish when the Fráncico father is)
