This park has become one of my favorite locations to go hiking with the kids. The woodchip trail is a well maintained trail that offers shade to receive some respite from the hot weather. I have seen public works staff tending to the park and replacing washed out wood chips. Trails are wide and very well maintained, the vegetated areas on the side of the trail are treated for poison ivy which is great when it comes to children. If you are a bird watcher or enjoy nature this is an excellent park to visit. There are several places where you can walk along the stream and watch tadpoles and small fish. This facility has picnic tables and a bathroom. Would recommend to anyone in the area. (Update) In recent months the park has changed appearance from the normal nature walking trail we all love. With a man made basin and many trees removed this park just doesn't feel quite the same. However; trails are still well maintained and I would imagine plans for the future would include new vegetation. Regardless, this woodchip trail is still excellent for an afternoon walk.

Nice, quick little nature spot to walk around.

Small and quiet park. There is only wood chips, so it can get quite muddy after it rains and during winter into spring.

This park was so nice, not crowded at Sunset and had a nice sunset view from atop of the hill. There are gentle slopes and a bit more of an upward slope at the last leg back to the parking lot. The trail is a small loop through woods at top and a small loop at the bottom follows a small tributary creek and has a small footbridge across it. There was plenty of wood chips to prevent too much mud during wet season.

Founder of Godshalls hatchery, formerly across the street. I don't know for sure , but my guess would be that he donated the land that is now the park
