Hello Kat. This is an excellent question and one I am asked often. First, I am very glad to hear your mother was not seriously injured in the accident. Second, yes, it is always a good idea to consult with an attorney. Burneikis Law offers free consultations. If your Mom is not injured, she will not need the services of a personal injury attorney. However, some injuries are not immediately felt. It can sometimes take up to 72 hours, or longer, to feel the full effects of an injury. This is especially true with older individuals. With that said, if your mom's injuries become apparent in the coming days, she will appreciate having received advice as to how to deal with the insurance company's questions, which are undoubtedly coming. Also, consulting with a licensed medical professional is the best practice in order to have documentation of her symptoms and their progression.
