Poor food, poor amenities - Beware! The San Ramon Sunrise retirement home on Fircrest change to this Ivy House has been disturbing to our family and many others. Lack of dedicated and knowledgeable leaders are resulting in many residents looking elsewhere due to lack of food, less staff members and less amenities. Really concerned that leadership is not available to discuss these issues with residents and their families.

This is one of the nicest places in the area. Yes it's expensive, but so are the others and you get so much more here. If your mom(or dad, etc) is used to living in mansions or nice homes, they will feel comfortable here. Mom's been there for a year, and she loves it. Made so many new friends she's rarely in her room. Most of the residents she introduced me to are retired academics, engineers, CEO's and other professionals. They have multiple public rooms for meetings, converstions, watching TV, making Art & Crafts, Mom is an oil painter, so she loves that. Theres a lot of quiet places to sit & read. There's a beautiful open air garden in the middle of the building. The food is good quality and prepared well, she's had no complaints. The only thing missing on-grounds are walkways for exercise, but it's easy enough to get out and walk around the neighborhood, which is quiet and safe. All in all, a great place to stay or visit. Recommended.
