We don't visit this park often because we live far away. But there are a lot of interesting things there. When we were in July, there was a repair on the dam. The folder has a lot of picnic tables, a playground, toilets, parking, a carousel, you can ride on the lake on a catamaran, you can walk in the woods along the lake. A train sometimes passes near the dam at the top .

Nice park! Very nice for hiking and other activities Visited in fall, what a scenic sight it was! The fall leaves make it even prettier. We also sailed the boat Recommend going on weekends for a peaceful getaway

I've been walking, biking, and exploring this park since i was a kid! It's got a trail that's about 4.5 miles long with a little marina with a carousel, ice cream parlor, and kayak/peddle boat rentals open in the spring and summer months. Only the vending machines, playground, and certain bathrooms are maintained yearlong, although there have been a few times I've used the lavatories and there wasn't any soap!! So be weary and perhaps bring some hand sanitizer if it isn't the peak season. Otherwise there's also picnic areas that you're supposed to get reservations for if you're having some sort of party. There's so many side trails that branch off of the main loop for you to explore!

Beautiful park tucked away in a really nice neighborhood in Springfield. There's a beautiful waterfall and lake where you can go kayaking. It's a perfect place to unwind and get away from the business of the city.

You can launch your own boat (by hand, no vehicles on beach, and no motor boats) for a small fee. Camping at Burke lake 15 mins away.
Yes, there is a nice variety of fish to be caught in both the lake and the dam. However you may want to keep your expectations low since the lake is highly pressured from constant fishing. It's really hit or miss to be honest. Tight lines!
The lake is highly pressured due to constant fishing but you can ocasionally catch decent fish. Of course there is an abundace of panfish as is th case in any freshwater lake in the US. Tight lines!
Yes there is, it is about 4.5 miles all the way around.
I've seen people "lay out" on the sand but have only seen little kids in the water, not sure about the exact rules though.
Yes, however weather may not be the greatest this weekend

Yes since most businesses reopened on Friday.
I have no idea. I stayed in airb&b in luray.
No, but there is a path that goes around the lake that is ideal for mountain biking.
it is not, our lake is to shallow with many underwater hazards.
Depends on the size. I think the biggest is $150
I would call and ask
The reason why I asked you the question, is because I've got family coming from Chile in South America for our wedding in October of 2020, and they participate in 2 bands, that's why, I ask.
It is a national park, free
