Our room did not meet our expectations. We ended up not bringing in any of our belongings and found lodging elsewhere. The room was extremely small and dingy. The box springs were both exposed and falling apart. We did not feel secure in staying there so we make other accommodations. The lobby did look remodeled and in much better condition, but it did not make up for the lack of attention in the room we were assigned.

I was very pleased with this motel. The service was courteous and efficient. Very friendly and helpful owners. This is why a motel owned and operated are superior to big Franchise. I was travelling from Southwest Florida which I have done for several years. I must say the BEST motel I stayed in. Room was very comfortable and TV selection was great. Location was near I95 and close to Gas and restaurants.

We were very happy about there being a charger for our hybrid car, and no parking charge, like many hotels in portsmouth do. It's about a 4 minute drive to the heart of downtown, or a 20 minute walk. This hotel was half the price, and a way better value than anywhere else we could have stayed. The room was large, could have had a pack and play for our kids if they came. The room was a little dated with a mild odor, and the bed wasn't super comfortable, but we would absolutely stay again.

The Port Inn was good. Not amazing, but certainly not bad either. The room was a mixture of the outdated and updated. There was also a bit of a smell in there that we couldn't quite track down. However, the room was overall clean and the staff was friendly. We also loved that they have complementary electric car chargers. Overall, I would stay there again for the price we paid.
