Became a member this year of this treasured museum in our back yard. For those of you who follow automotive history you will be amazed at the state of preservation and the rarity of this important and early collection. Former curator Evan Ide who is well known for his work at Bonhams and fielding notable Pebble Beach entries, still has a soft spot in his heart for this gem of an institution. He has helped promote the museum here and abroad, and it is finally getting recognition as one of the truly distinguished collections of its era. Plenty to do here as well with events and activities for all levels of enthusiast. We recently attended the German Car Day lawn event and that was amazing with a great group in attendance. Please support this important institution so we can pass it on to future generations.

Larz Anderson. What a place. Constant car meets, gathering, social events, and big plus, a beautiful venue. Make time to actually checkout the museum collection as well. Its a rotating collection, and don't miss the downstairs. If you really like the spot, they also have memberships. Cool place to take your guests and car enthusiasts. Also the venue can be rented to host events. Just pro tip. If you do an event, try to pick a NOT a hot day. You can thank me later. 👍

Not exactly a car enthusiast, but was amazed at the history related through the vehicles. The museum is pristine and worth the trip! The Andersons were truly amazing humanitarians, we all could learn from them. Will definitely return.

Nice small museum filled with older model cars and some more modern ones. Took a pack of kiddos ages 4-12 and they all had a good time. They are not allowed to climb in the cars or touch them though so just be aware of that. It's a quick tour of between 45 minutes and an hour but lots to read about and learn. Small gift shop by the entrance/exit.

I'd probably check their website and get in contact with the staff..
no elevator but the lower level has an accesible entrance.
About 25-35. There are 2 floors. The 2nd floor houses older antique cars. The main floor houses show cars. Currently on the 1st floor its the GOLDEN AGE cars. Go check them out. Its all a collector's dreams. The top/third floor is office space.
Both cars are not there. Not sure about online viewing
I didn't see this capability. There is a single set of stairs that lead to the original collection, and it didn't seem like they had an accessible elevator.
Google maps has a feature that lets you choose mode of transportation. You can select train and it will help you with the duration of each leg of the trip, including walking from the station, or a bus when available.
If you go to the museum on a day where they are not holding an event, going through the entire museum will take about an hour. If you do go on an event day; Italian car day, Japanese automobile day, German car day...expect go be there for at least 2+ hours. Personally I'd wait for an event day to go because most of the time there is no entrance fee and the museum is open to the public. Might run into longer lines for thd actual museum, but hundreds of cars show up which just adds to the amazing experience.
Hugh, Please find a list of all our events at https://larzanderson.org/museumevents/communityhistory/ (including this Thursday's event!)
