It’s a great facility and a very friendly and helpful staff. I like going here to get some focused work done. It’s cheaper than a co-working space.

Three cheers for the Brookline Public Library! My wife and I lived in Brookline for over 45 years and the library is probably the thing we will miss the very most after moving across to Boston. Not that there's anything wrong with the Boston Public Library, but we already miss the cozy and friendly atmosphere and the smiling faces of lovely people like Julie Fashlioni and Gina W. The staff was so helpful and knew us very well. And they were alway full of such terrific recommendations for new novels to read. And they can find anything any time. The building is beautiful and historic. It's filled with many memories for both me and the people of Brookline. I especially appreciate the layout and the fact that there are both public spaces where people can meet and talk and quiet spaces where people can read quietly. The architecture is grand too. Our kids and grandkids love the library too and our grandkids will miss the childrens programming there. Thankfully they can still join with the virtual story hours. My grandson is learning Japanese and he particularly enjoys the Japanese Story Hours. The Brookline Public Library has always been a great place for kids. Although they were very young at the time my two oldest kids have fond memories of a Birthday Bash which included an opera version of Hansel and Gretel with a very scary witch. Our one son was so scared he started crying but the charming Mrs Seal and her young assistant were there to help make him feel brave again. I think that libraries exist to help make people better. Mrs Seal and her staff helped make my son feel brave that day but they also made him feel smart, helpful and important. All my kids learned these lessons at the library. It was also where they learned about diversity and other cultures. Brookline can be a monoculture but even in the 1980s and 1990s it was a place that always celebrated diversity. That is even more true today. The terrific librarians there have recommended to me many books from other perspectives. Even as a recent retiree they have helped me grow in my perspective of the world. I can say that I am a better person for reading books and stories. So thank you Brookline Public Library for making us all into lifelong thinkers and readers. We will miss you.

My plan was just to go there and take few printouts, but the moment I entered, I was impressed with the overall vibe. Staff was really helpful and I ended up registering, getting my library card and a book. Also, the book which I could not find, the staff assured that it will be ordered and I can get it in one or two weeks. Had a nice experience, and will definitely be a regular visitor here.

Great library and very friendly staff. I’ve been coming here for the past 2 years and the children section is well organized with ample seating spaces.

I don't think it happens that fast. I would check with your local library

Hey, Elizabeth, I too am interested the the 3-D presentation. And probably like you, I do not have access to the Putterham branch as I don't think they are accessible by T. The main branch is very accessible by T--D line, 66 Bus, and plenty of parking-including lots and lots of handicap accessible spots.

Yes, it is free and there is plenty of it and they have a garage. However, I believe some people park in the garage and do local errands. And the wheel chair accessible is plentiful and very accessible to the front door.
10 am
Just bring them in ti the front desk
Yes, there is an attached garage
