We stopped in the fly shop on our way home from a fishing trip. Shannon helped me, and I think he help my buddy also. They were the right amount of helpful. There was always somebody ready to help, but not pushy. I think that comes from a great product and good employees. I'm looking forward to my next trip.

Great selection. They even have 'top picks' for all the different local places, including size. Staff seemed very knowledgeable about local streams.

For a fly shop with such a widespread reputation, I had one of the poorest experiences in my 20+ years of guided fishing. To begin with we had to spend time driving our own shuttles (never done that before), all we heard about was how crowded the river was when it was our guide who chose where to fish, and we felt rushed all day. Lunch, however, was among the best ever. Kudos. I feel like The Fly Shop does such booming internet sales that they care little about their day to day guided trip clients. Maybe they knew we traveled a great distance & didn’t think we’d ever be back anyway.

Great place! Also the staff is super knowledgeable and friendly, not stuffy. Mellow dudes. Zach was great in helping us find the best guides trip for my father and I. Great organization of info. for trips.

I don't have a phone or an email address, I don't know how to order now. I live just down river, but hesitate to travel to the shop

I visited the fly shop 2 days ago, and couldn't have been more pleased with the trip. Start to finish, a great experience. For those who are concerned about covid, they have a sign posted on the front door listing their safety precautions being practised, such as limiting the number of customers permitted at one time, etc. My husband and I were the only visitors at the time, and we were told that foot traffic has been nearly non existent, but they were busily preparing orders they've been getting via phone/internet and so on. While being cautious is always wise, it's my belief that fear suppresses ones immune system :) happy fishing!

How is the fishing on Fall River? Previsions for this coming weekend?

Fanny Krieger | Sep 2, 2021
The Fly Shop | Sep 2, 2021

Hi Fanny, The fishing on the Fall has been good. Using nymphing and/or intermediate lines. A few of the flies that we've found productive are: • Damel Leeches • Balanced Leeches • Trico's • Callibaetis Nymphs I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time up there. Thank you, Terry L. Jepsen

How can I tell if I need to replace my line?

Coralee Grimes | Sep 2, 2020
The Fly Shop | Sep 2, 2020

Great question and we apologize for the tardy response. We recommend replacing your fly line if you see cracks, it starts sinking rather than floating, or if you've had to cut too much of it off. The fly line is the most overlooked piece of equipment in fly fishing, yet it is one of the most important pieces. You can also take it into a fly shop and they should clean it for you and let you know if there are any cracks or a reason for purchasing a new one.
