The people at Hanover Street in Manchester work extremely hard, and often in the face of people who are incredibly rude and impatient with a system that is understandably complicated. (As it should be! Why would anyone expect tax dollars to be handed out without appropriate investigation and monitoring?) Everyone I have encountered in that office has gone out of their way to help me understand the process and any hiccups that have occurred whether they were mistakes I made or sudden changes coming from above in response to a chaotic, pandemic affected economy. They are good people and deserve to be treated as such. In fact, after this COVID nightmare, having put in extreme amounts of required overtime, dealt with legislative changes occurring on a daily, sometimes hourly basis, and still managing to keep their cool with impatient, belligerent, entitled people who seem to believe they are the only people struggling, I'd say they deserve medals for continuing to give it their all, every single day. At the very least, civility and even a "Thank you" from the community they serve. That said, extra vacation time would be entirely in order and an excellent way of showing our gratitude. It takes grit to do what they do and they have proven they have it in spades. Thanks, folks! You have helped me tremendously in 2021 and I am forever grateful!

I've called three unemployment offices and have been approved. But after 5 weeks they won't cut me a check they owe me 1800 dollars as per my statements I've received thru the mail. I had a work releated Injury and they refuse to be helpful. Ive been down a total of three times and have gotten the phone hung up on me. I'm the difficult one. Yeah it's very difficult to find work while sitting at home waiting for a check to come in the mail. After a horrific accident. And the states system that are in place that prove not to work. I hope to get somewhere with these people soon.

It's a joke, you are far more likely to get a job before you get anything from them IF you get anything .

I'm guessing you called early in the pandemic, when they were briefly shut down. No one was sure what was happening and NHES offices have to take instruction from above. They worked very hard to keep things going, though, and did an excellent job considering the circumstances. Alternatively, you could have been calling outside their work hours?
Yes
Yes, in fact, that's the ONLY way you do it.
