Neat spot. Many trails so make sure you're paying attention. Walked a bit with my two year old and it was easy enough for her in most places. Will return and would recommend.

Boxford Sate Forest is great for hikers with dogs (on leash) but make note of the following: The trail between marker 13 and 14 was in a pond and unpassable in mid April. Don't know why. The trail map on the dcr website is very poor and many markers are not listed. It's easy to get lost. At least cell phone GPS worked well in the eastern part of the forest. The closest parking on the eastern side is near 209 Middleton Rd., Boxford, MA and provides space for only about 10 cars.

Really nice place with some low but rugged hills and ponds. This place does have some issues with trails that have become submerged due to beaver activity. Do not trust trail maps you may find online. You will regret that as I did.

Nice trails... Sort of. BSF could use more riders and better trail marking. Especially the west side. I prefer going across the street to Lockwood Forest.
