I called child protective services and was told to press zero to speak to that department. I called multiple times and allowed the phone to ring for 4 minutes each and no one answered. Really? I drove into town to tackle the bureaucratic que in person.

They taught my daughter that when she does what we are told to do as children, tell an adult when your abused, that agency's like cps or the police won't help. She has 3 disclosures of abuse now. She's now facing have to possibly go back to the man who abused her because CPS won't protect a child, even though they said they believe her. She wanted me to say that she won't be a bother anymore. That she had learned that the abuse she faces at his hands daily is less than what she will face when she has to see him again and that noone will help her anyways so why bother. Unfortunately they have taught us all that. My purpose for posting is to warn parents. Abuse is never good, keep in mind though that there is a great possibility that your child disclosing anything will go no where and your child will have to face their abuser that is now angry and fully aware of what was said about them and that things will be worse and that the abuser will feel untouchable and that they can get away with more. In other words, it gets much worse. Our situation has proven that over and over again.
