I've owned dogs & cats all my life but trying to adopt either at this shelter is very difficult. And I would never put an animal in harms way. I have bird & squirrel abodes placed around my yard & in the trees. All I want is a companion for my aging dog. My 2 cats died a year ago, age 20 & 21....

I just got my first cat in over 20 years. Scituate Animal Shelter was very helpful. The facility is very clean and staff is professional and courteous. The animals are well cared for. Highly recommend getting a rescue animal

Facility is very clean and the animals (I just saw the cats) they look very healthy and clean. The staff was very helpful and caring and professional. PS I have had my cat for a week and a half. I am so happy with Her! My new BFF ❤

They use only unfitted bed sheets and not as much as blankets.

There's a donation box outside on the right side of the building, where you can deposit items anytime. I've used this before for spare items when I've lost a pet in the past.

I am a volunteer at the shelter. This shelter is really amazing. They will never put down an animal due to length of stay. They do an amazing job at finding homes for all the animals they can.
Yes they do get bunnies you would have to call to find out if they have any

Contact the shelter and let them know your availability. They usually are looking for cat care and dog care between 8-10AM and 3-5PM. There are other ways to help the shelter too so call them.
My son comes every day to feed and spend time with her...about 1 hr each day I am gone...I am home 6 days then away for 8-9 days...then back to my home and with my kitty for 6 days etc
