No bathroom at park location, but everything else was great. We did trail ride through the park and saw the Myakka river and a lot of wildlife. Jimmy was a great leader and full of info about the area and the horses we rode. My horse, Hoss, trotted some which I had never done before. Helmets were available but we did not use them. Very nice people who love their animals.

I was a little put off after calling the number posted and went straight to voicemail. A few minutes later I got an SMS text from Tim who answered info and provided a link to the website (Great Adventures...) a good website with enough details to feel confident about booking online which went pretty smoothly paying through my debit card. I was concerned about a refundability or inclement weather but it appears there are no refunds just a credit toward future ride/booking. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. My 13 yo daughter decided on the 2 hour trail ride and Jimmy and five other riders showed up at the site, which all was good. All were friendly and the it was nice to see well kept horses, truck trailered in. My daughter, an experienced rider, loved the ride. She brought her own helmet but helmets were available for no extra fee. She came back and had nothing bad to say. She didn't get to gallop but that's fine. Safety first. Thanks Tim and Jimmy. We'll come back for the beach-swim next time. Wahoo! \o/

No rest room. No drinking water. No trash cans, pack it in, pack it out. In fall and winter it's a quiet place to kike/walk. Today I saw deer, turkey, armadillos, and many birds. I saw no people after leaving the north entrance. I walked over 8 miles. There are picnic tables or benches scattered throughout the preserve. The trails are dirt roads.

We don't charge by the hour. Our horses are transported quite a long distance from the farm to the trail head. Most of our rides are 1-2 hours long depending on how long you want to ride.
Currently, rates start at $49/hour.
DPC is a big nature preserve, thousands of acres of wilderness with rivers, creeks, ponds, etc. It's nowhere near the beaches. Our beach rides are in Bradenton, Florida. Info at BeachHorses.com or call us at (41-650-1820.
