PRICEY! Newly renovated gravel sites were level but you are VERY close to your neighbors (pics). The upper sites have a small grass lawn while the lower sites have artificial turf. The turf is nicer because the grass is not quite grown in fully and it can get a little muddy when it rains. The upper and lower sites back up to each other and share a utility pedestal on the upper level which is poorly positioned. The "wings" of the pedestal open side-to-side so unless you are perfectly centered in your site and a little forward, the "wings" will hit your rig (pic). There were a lot of kids. They need a proofreader for the rules. Speaking of rules, one references the speed limit in the park at 5 mph, "strictly enforced". Not only is it not strictly enforced, it is not enforced at all and therefore ignored by a lot of people. I saw many, many people going WAY faster than 5 mph. Another rules curiosity references the sewer hose - "no more than 4 to 6 inches down the hole". The sewer connection is not threaded but still I cannot imagine that any state or local ordinances allow a sewer hose to just be stuffed into the pipe without some sort of airtight connection. There is a smallish laundry – 3 washers, 4 dryers - $3.50 and $.50 respectively. It is accessed by a 2-track, dirt cow path. There is no parking at your site. Free Wi-Fi was not even capable of basic browsing. Decent Wi-Fi costs extra. No cable. OTA was OK.
Hey Reggey
I am new to the RV world and so much appreciated the helpful support and suggestions of Diane, as well as her sense of humor. The park is well kept, child and pet friendly, and perfectly located for all of the Newport highlights. Thanks for helping us make our first trip so pleasant.

Definitely not worth staying here. We spent a week in Newport with 5 days in Newport RV Park (formerly Melville Pond campground) and 3 days here because it had the better location. When we arrived here we realized we should have stayed at the other campground. This one has the better location but I cannot believe how close together everyone is. Look at the picture I took. The full hookup spots don't even have grass...!? You are not allowed campfires at your site due to proximity, we were only able to get a water/electric site and the beach is still a 20 minute walk away. Melville Pond had a beautiful spot for our trailer and we had full hookups and it was still an easy drive to get to the beach or into the town.
