The owners of the bookstore are friendly and love to have conversations with their customers. They have a lot of hidden gems on their shelves, you just have to look for them. You can also request that you be notified if they get a specific book in stock. We love going in to Dogtown

At first I googled trying to find the 1949 cookbook my grandmother had. I found a range of prices some as high as $125. Since I prefer to do business with small mom and pop shops, like Dogtown, I decided to give them a try. It was listed online for $40 and I wasn't even sure they would still have it. I called Bob and he was very pleasant and said given the age the book is in great condition, I even explained the story behind the book. My grandmother had passed many years ago, leaving me a water jug of pennies that have broken more storage containers over the years, but I never wanted to spend them. While at my Dad's he had this cookbook out and as I was about to ask him for it said my sister already asked, so off to Google I went! And what better way to spend the pennies!! I ordered the book the day before a holiday, but still had it in my hands within 6 days and the books condition far exceeded my expectations - aside from some yellowing of the pages, it is like new! I plan to add my grandmother and father's notes to it and will pass it along to my children. One day I will make the trip to the physical location as I love old book stores! Thank you again for helping to bring a bit of my grandmother home with me.
