I mailed a USB drive that was not working to Green Earth Computers in August with my information after a phone consult. Was never told they received it but had to follow up myself. Was never quoted a potential price for repairs. Every time I wanted an update on the potential repairs I had to call them myself which I did once a month. Zero communication on their end. It is now December. They were not able to fix my flash drive. I had to call to request they mail it back to me and I still have not received it. If not for the other positive reviews I would assume this company is a scam but I will bring my business elsewhere next time. Glad I didn’t trust them with something more valuable like a computer. Unprofessional. Avoid.

Had a great experience with GEC. First, they answer the phone so you can talk to someone about your options. The options they gave me were clear and helpful. It took a little longer than they said but within four days I had my laptop back and it's running like it was brand new! The cost was very reasonable. I am relieved to have found a place I can go to when in need for a computer or phone fix.

My phone had stopped charging and had run out of power. An initial call established that Green Earth Computers could diagnose the issue while I waited, so I went to their storefront. Entry was not allowed (due to a pandemic), but a technician responded promptly to a knock on the door, recognized my voice from the call, accepted my phone for service, and promised to update me as soon as possible. A second technician appeared shortly after to let me know the charging port needed cleaning. Within 30 minutes, the first technician returned my phone, having verified that it was now drawing the correct charging current, and advised me to leave it charging for a while, and if it didn't return to life, we could talk about next steps. I asked what I owed them, and he said "For that? Nothing." My phone returned to life after charging at home for 10 minutes. The same service (cleaning the charging port) had cost me over twenty dollars and took two days at another nearby certified service center for the phone brand.

John just fixed my iPhone in 15 minutes with such a low cost than expected. People here are super friendly and very professional. The same screen protector price at Green Earth is four times less than the quote I got from the Apple store. Apple store also quoted me $129 (exclude tax) to fix my home bottom, where John fixed it in less than 15 minutes with such a reasonable cost ($15). I am very thankful and plan to visit this place soon with a thank you gift. Thank you again, John!!

The iPad mini and mini 2 are $117 parts and labor for the glass repair. Other small parts can also be replaced if needed while the device is open. Swing by with the unit and we can take a look and give you an assessment. We typically have the screens in stock for same day repairs.

Our hourly rate for drop off work is currently $65/h. Most cellphone data recovery can be accomplished in around 1h. Some more difficult recoveries go up to 1.5h of billable work. We can also do quick screen replacements on most iPhone models if you would prefer to do the recovery yourself from a repaired phone
iPhone repair prices fluctuate/vary based on cost of parts. Currently the regular 8 is $95 parts and labor and the 8+ is $105. Parts are in stock for both with ~1h turn around time.
The surface pro series are not cheaply or easily repairable. Their recent X model was more repairable than before with a replaceable SSD. But the battery replacement still requires screen removal and near full disassembly, so it is not a cheap repair. This is sadly true of most tablet devices and even many laptops today. Ifixit and notebookcheck are good resources for device teardowns and repairability.

Paula, Just an FYI, Google questions are mostly designed to be public facing questions to the general public for information about businesses. For questions for a business contacting them directly is always recommended. To address your question, we are able to work on and help with most computer issues. That said, Mac OS 10.6.8 has been out of support by Apple for 5-6 years and is riddled with security and functionality issues. Definitely not recommended for running on any computer with internet access.
We can absolutely help. Your hardware labor warranty runs for 1 year on all refurbished laptops we sell. Although we can of course work on the machine even after warranty expires. Please bring the machine by during business hours and we can check it in for service.
Deryk's answer is correct. Bring it by for a diagnostic. Hourly rate is $65/h and with the first hour being taken as an up front deposit. No work beyond that $65 will be done until we have written a full estimate and gotten approval.
Unfortunately this is not something we fix. This sort of repair is often not worth it.
