Some of the GPS and nurses are good. But several of them don’t have the slightest clue what they are doing and will make you sicker. I almost had a heart attack from a medication they gave me that had a 2022 review in March as being toxic in some cases

If you want to throw the dice to gamble with your familys life go to this hospital. Do yourself a favor just drive the extra 40 minutes to burlington. Thom Lauzon should knock this place down and put up some Section 8 housing.

Total joke. The doctors require the nurses to aimlessly stab around for an IV instead of using an obvious vein popping out in someone's elbow because "the doctor prefers they try much harder places first for ease of his job. "Jennifer" had poked him more than 3 times and had an IV taped that she couldn't even draw blood off because it wasn't in a vein. Train your nurses and change your IV policies to cater to patients rather than your doctor....the nurse also couldn't be bothered to read his chart and thought "tinea versicolor" was some huge rash. Makes me feel great knowing they didn't even read his chart before they started. Amanda was great, but Jennifer needs to go back to nursing school. We were also called twice the same day of surgery and asked to come in sooner- yet his surgery started AFTER the projected time was supposed to be before it was pushed forward an hour. They also didn't medicate him before all the anethesia wore off so it took 4 hours to get his pain under control... would NOT recommend. CVMC would rather cause their patients pain to make the doctors job easier. Really backwards.

I have a long history with this hospital; I was born there, and so were my first two children (17 & 21 years ago). My first maternity experiences with Central Vt Hospital were fine, but I had just enough negative interaction back then that when we discovered I was going to have another baby we decided to go elsewhere. However, due to our location, when the baby was ready to arrive we made a quick trip to CVMC and she was born very shortly thereafter. I was delighted to discover that since my last child, the new Labor & Delivery department and Woman’s Health staff are all new, and are a fantastic team! Everyone was wonderful, treated us with tremendous respect, and gave our baby a gentle welcome into the world. Besides the new teams of staff, I was happy to learn that delivery rooms offer a large jacuzzi soaking tub with shower, baby has the option of rooming-in with you, there is no transition to a cramped impersonal shared hospital room any longer—the spacious delivery room doubles as your personal bedroom. These positive changes—especially that of the staff!—at CVMC have sold me on Women’s Health and Labor & Delivery, and I encourage anyone seeking a professional team of caring individuals to assist with a gentle hospital birth to check them out!
