As a trustee I have worked with NYSARC for many years. I have always found them to be straightforward and easy to work with. Among the qualities found with NYSARC they have online access and you can see the progress of funds distribution requests from pending to processed. For the people that are leaving negative reviews, NYSARC doesn't make the rules; Medicaid does. I too have been denied for funds distributions requests and the NYSARC staff were well trained and highly capable to explain why the request had to be denied.

This place should not exist. Seriously. I mean that.. like if I could give a negative 5 star rating I would. NYSARC Trust Services (NPO) has been my trustee for more than 10 years and there seems to always be an issue when it comes to them disbursing my requests. For years they have denied me certain disbursements due to a policy and staff that seem to change CONSTANTLY. I was exposed to lead poisoning at a young age and received a large settlement. The lawyer assigned to my mother (who filed the claim) had suggested this company without hesitation and since then there have been nothing but roadblocks when it comes to accessing the money. 1. NYSARC Trust Services did not pay for an emotional support animal when requested. 2. NYSARC Trust Services agreed to pay the rent of the beneficiary 3 months ago but payments are lost/have not been received. 3.NYSARC Trust Services denies any disbursements to clothing stores and entertainment items; claiming a credit card must be used to purchase items and they will pay the amount for the card statement provided 4. NYSARC Trust Services denied disbursement for payment of the credit card statement forcing it to be sent to a collection agency. 5. NYSARC Trust Services has changed the case manager to the beneficiary multiple times without notice and the current CM is almost never available due to "staffing shortages" I'm seriously looking to file a claim against you people. Keep up the *@!%#&+!

Case manager is almost never there. Had set up an auto payment 2 months ago and the third party has yet to receive any payments despite checks being "sent"

Can nysarc put a lien on your vehicle

Purchasing a vehicle through the trust can be a great way to help trust beneficiaries access reliable, safe transportation and achieve autonomy and independence. Trustees of the NYSARC Community Trusts are often asked to assist in the purchase of a vehicle for a disabled beneficiary and will typically hold a lien on the vehicle. This protects the full value of the vehicle so that any funds from the sale of the vehicle are returned to the trust to ensure they do not adversely impact the beneficiary's access to vital services through means-tested government benefits and that the funds are used in the best interest of the trust beneficiary to improve their quality of life.
