It is definitely not worth $30.00 to play there. TERRIBLE, not going back

Some friends and I went down to Florida to play some golf. We flew into Tampa around 1 but we weren't sure if we would have time to play that afternoon so we never scheduled anything. We got done there and were excited to play so we decided to find a course we could get on that afternoon. We found Oak Hills. When we pulled into the parking lot we thought it might be closed because there was only one car in the parking lot. We went in to see and were please to find out that it was open and we could get on. We asked how much it cost for 18 and a cart and the guy said $20. I said, "wow that's really cheap." to which he replied "it's priced appropriately." I laughed and didn't have high hopes. This was in December so most of the grass was dormant but you could tell the course hadn't been well maintained. Anyway, we made our way around the course and had a good time, happy to be outside playing golf after coming down from the snow up north. We couldn't help but notice that it looked like the course lay in the middle of an old ghost town. Most of the houses around the course were in poor shape and didn't look like anyone lived there anymore, but you could see at one point it was probably a really nice course and neighborhood. When we got done, i ran into a guy that was on the range hitting balls. I asked him what happened to the place. He said Ray Floyd used to be the pro there or a part owner or something and that it used to be a really nice course and "they had the greens running like pool tables." He said people just lost interest in golf...i doubt it. I think ownership stopped spending money and taking care of their guests. My friends and I often talk about that trip and that course. It was an interesting day. If someone would buy that place and put a little money into it, it could be a really nice course again. The layout was actually a lot of fun but the condition i would classify as abandoned. I hope its a lot better if i ever make it back there again.

Driving range was decent, but it was difficult to get a even lay to practice your irons. Prices very reasonable. $9.00 for 70-75 balls. Friendly staff.

Great course for the price. Not a lot of people so you can really take your time. Great staff and facility
