I've eaten here a few times to get my Papas con Carne fix, tender shredded beef with boiled potatoes, yellow (or white) rice, black beans and plantains. Overall the place is really good! There's a large patio with outdoor seating and and outdoor bar area (at night). They provide a buttered bread appetizer to hold you over while your food cooks, but I always get the plantain chip appetizer to share too - yum! The food is always delicious and served in large portions to leave you filled and ready to walk around downtown Mt. Dora.

We went back to one of our favorites Cuban restaurants. Is being over six years since last visited because we were disappointed. Today we ordered the paella since it takes around 40" we ordered by phone to eat at the restaurant. When we got there we let our server know that we ordered already to eat there but for some reason they were confused, finally we got our paella. Presentation was great, taste very good but preparation it was a little dry for a paella since we had it before in many restaurants including this and have family that know how to cook this culinary dish, we know. The reason that I only gave four stars it doesn't has to do with the food but with the service. The server was new with we understood but went she told my wife that she had an attitude, (that is rude ) she never came back to offer me a refill for my drink and took any empty dishes of our table until we finished all of that with an empty restaurant, there isn't an excuse for a new employee. This is the first time that we had this kind of service here. We probably return but we will try the other Cuban restaurant in Mount Dora before coming back here. For us is a 40" drive to be mistreated by a new employee I an afraid that went she be there longer than six months she might be more aggressive so we probably order to eat in the car.

I was a little disappointed on my recent visit to this restaurant. It started with no one coming to our table to help us for at least 20 minutes. The more frustrating part was the waitress kept walking by our table to help others and not even saying “I’ll be right with you” or any type of acknowledgment. The next frustration was with the food. The rice was under cooked and the food did not taste good. I’m disappointed because I’ve been here before and the experience was better.

Keep away from Deep Fried Items. I joined a group of 15 people for dinner on a Wed night. Whoever was running the deep fryer did not know what they were doing. Everything that came out of the deep fryer was overcooked and dried out including the ribs and the snapper. The snapper made a great picture though - even if it was not edible. The other menu items were good. One person had a fish baked in foil and she said it was one of the best things she had eaten. I had the scallops and calamari with mixed vegetables, and it was good. The service by our server, Maria was good. The kitchen was slow. It took 45 to 50 minutes to get our entrees. I give this restaurant three stars because of the culinary disaster that were their fried entrees. Would I go back - not sure.

None, no dividers, no mask requirements. They do keep an empty hand sanitizer dispenser at the front next to the bussing carts.
They call them chimichuri sauces. The green one is mild and the yellow one is spicy. They make them there at the restaurant.
Still on. Starting at 11am
Yes & no, some baskets & sandwiches can be had for $12 or so dollars, goes up from there.
