Flexible-use space for community events. Includes library, screening room, kitchen. Clean, well-managed, ADA-compliant, and in a convenient location.

In 2019 I spent the entire day at the Fair. It was my first visit. I clearly saw things I've never seen before. I appreciated the freedom of expression. It is clearly an event where a person can expose their private lifestyle in a public setting. I'm a nudist so I enjoyed the liberty of walking amongst the "Textiles" without breaking any laws.

It is usually really fun but the vibe was more tense this year. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence weren't there, no rope play to be found, it just seemed lacking in every way. Hopefully next year will be better.

An interesting experience if you're open minded enough. The most remarkable aspect is looking at people who are likely "boring normal" in their ordinary life but at Folsom they express themselves in an un-expected manners (not just burlesque style... ;)

Questions & Answers

I'm a single male that might meet people I know there. People won't try anything funny will they? I have PTSD and freek out on hurtful things.

Generally speaking everyone I have come across is respectful of your space. You're not likely to find yourself in a bad place without making a specific effort to get there. There are people there flogging, whipping, and binding, but it is all consensual and generally within defined spaces. So unless you voluntarily submit yourself to that it's not likely to happen. Keep in mind that there may be over 100,000 people there during peak hours. So you may want to get there when the event opens and there are fewer people so you can acclimate before it gets too crowded. Then if you find the crowd and atmosphere to be too much you can slip away and see some of the other things around SF.

No, it is quite a bit away and yes you will need Uber, Lyft, or taxicab.
