I called for assistance to keep the peace as I was denied access to a restaraunt because I'm disabled and am part of a Mobility Dog Team. The dispatcher (1515) if that's not made up, informed me that it was a civil matter. It is in fact a Federal Law under the American's with Disabilities Act Title Two and Title Three. CA Penal Code Section 365.5 provides that any person, firm, association or corporation who prevents a disabled person from exercising, or interferes with a disabled person in exercise of, the rights in this section is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not exceeding 2,500.00. Part 2. I called again and asked to speak to a Supervisor. I was transferred to the Watch Commander who listened patiently while I expressed my frustration by explaining the above in detail. I didn't let her get a word in edge wise as I was so frustrated. She calmly told me that she was going to print out the Department's policy which agreed with my position. She promised to educate the Dispatcher and offered her own name and badge number should I require assistance in the future. By showing empathy and assuring me that the Police Dept. would be there for me if needed in the future, I was put at ease. So 0 Stars for the Dispatch Call and 5 Stars to the Watch Commander who was a hero in her compassion.

Excellent, responsive and professional police department, and in appropriate public situations, most do have a sense of humor as well. I hope they like my Photos on Google Maps app. I labeled the entire Civic Center building as the ‘Police Dept.’ So far these have had about 10,000 views on the ‘net, and thank you for your nice letter about these same photos!

My neighbor had his bike stolen by a transient who illegally entered our gated community. The CC Police, having the bike ID number, found it, returned it, and arrested transient with other stolen goods. They work hard and deserve kudos. Thank you CCPolice!

The Cathedral City police assisted me on a matter today. They handled themselves and the situation masterfully. Every encounter I have had with the Cat City police I am amazed how pleasant, personable, helpful and friendly they all are. These guys/gals are the best, no attitude just nice regular people.

Yes. It would be the same as if he was sitting in his car drinking a beer. It is illegal to operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of marijuana.
