Awesome first visit. Very thorough evaluation and review of issues and potential next steps without pressure from any of the staff. I felt that I was left with enough objective information to make informed decisions on future treatment. I also want to give a shout out to Dr. Gilmore and his staff for embracing new technology and techniques as this seems lacking in many medical and dental practices these days. Actually looking forward to my next visit!

I don't think you have enough 5 star reviews so I thought I'd add another one. Dr. Gilmore is a great dentist. And his staff is exceptional. They're out of network for me now but I still go there as sometimes you just have to pay a little more to go to the best. I can say this in all honesty because I've been to "the worst" before, and I have to say Thank you Lord for good dentists like doc Gilmore. Lastly, I trust them, their facility is clean and they've taken COVID very seriously. Thank you very much for all that you do.

Love the clean private rooms, with diffuser's running. Sometimes I even get a heated neck cushion while hygienist cleans teeth. I also love the latest technology they have for taking pictures of teeth, as I have had some hairline fractures that Dr. Gilmore is able to detect/fix and help explain what is/has happened to my teeth. I usually leave feeling well cared for.

Absolutely amazing! I had to have my bridge sectioned, infected tooth pulled and have a bone graft, and I was done in under an hour, painlessly! And they got me in the same week, much sooner than my previous dentist could (they were over a month out, even for an emergency!) The entire staff was delightful. I highly recommend Gilmore Dental!

Questions & Answers

Do you see same day emergencies?

Most days yes. We may or may not be able to complete recommended treatment, however our priority is to take care of your chief complaint, especially pain.

I just had a tooth pulled and it keeps bleeding, what do I do?

Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020
Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020

It is common for teeth to bleed for several hours after an extraction. When blood mixes with saliva it could appear that the bleeding is really worse than it is. Take the gauze the dentist gave you, fold it in half, then half again. Place on extraction site and bite with pressure for 30 minutes at a time until bleeding subsides. If you're concerned, please call the office 541-504-5707!

I just had a crown and or filling done, why does it hurt to chew? Why is it cold sensitive? Why is it hot sensitive?

Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020
Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020

Sensitivities (chewing, cold) are common after a restoration. Often times it just means that you need a minor adjustment to the restoration. If you are having hot sensitivity that's causing lingering pain, constant throbbing or pain that is increasing, you may need a root canal. Any time a tooth is touched there is a risk of the tooth (nerves) dying. If you're concerned please call the office 541-504-5707!

Can I wait for treatment until my benefit renews?

Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020
Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020

The doctors' main purpose is to share his or her findings with you, to discuss the consequences of not completing treatment. There is no crystal ball in dentistry. You just have to understand the risks of waiting - pain, more expensive treatment, tooth loss to name a few.

Why do I need x-rays?

Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020
Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020

We could all agree that you may drive your car and not know that something inside the engine is breaking down. You've probably heard stories where people have had a fluke accident and discovered they have cancer. We are not always aware of what is happening beneath the surface. Digital x-rays help us to see what might be happening that we cannot see with the naked eye. The wonderful thing about modern x-rays is the very low radiation exposure, less than what you get being outside.

Does my dental insurance cover it?

Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020
Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020

We deal with hundreds of insurance plans and each plan is dependent upon the agreements between your employer and the dental benefits company. We are able to obtain some basic information, however, we are unable to know all the fine print of policies. What we can tell you is, dental benefits are a business, they are not centered around optimal patient care. We will work with you to help you maximize your benefits to their fullest extent. Please call our office with any insurance questions! 541-504-5707.

Do you offer financial arrangements?

Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020
Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020

It is our priority to help patients achieve needed treatment. Down payments are required and in-house financial arrangement requires an auto-withdrawal out of your checking account. There are four dates to pick from. We also accept Care Credit! Please call our office for more information at 541-504-5707.

I'm a new patient, can I get a cleaning without an exam or x-ray?

Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020
Gilmore Dental | Sep 1, 2020

To establish you as a patient and give you the care you deserve, our doctors need to do an initial evaluation to ensure you do not have any underlying issues you may not even know about. If we can locate previous x-rays taken at another facility, we certainly will as long as they are clear images within an acceptable time frame. We can then customize how often you receive x-rays and evaluations in the future. Please call the office to learn more 541-504-5707.

Do they speak Spanish or do they have a translator?

Marcelina Barajar lugo | Sep 2, 2019
Gilmore Dental | Sep 2, 2019

Hola Marcelina, we do not speak Spanish in the office and we don't have a translator currently. We do have a lot of Spanish speaking patients who will bring a translator with them to their appointment!
