I have been working at the school in Bordentown for a 3rd party and suppose to claim unemployment on my days off. I have put a claim in for several days and weeks so far and haven't gotten paid. I also got the run around on how to claim since I was skipping weeks. Now summer is next week for me abd my account is locked and I can not put any claims in. I have reached out to the governors office and will be working my way up the chain. Last call I had with someone she said like everyone else that someone will call me within a few days but yet no calls she even stated good luck with getting a call back! This is the worse! During a pandemic with inflation I had to stop payment on bills because I haven't recieved weeks worth of pay.

I have been waiting for my unemployment since April of this year, I was told that it was on hold due to social security verification. I was told to send in certain information in which I did over 30 times (literally) to both fax numbers and email provided and after checking back in to verify they received it they said they never did, how is that even possible? ... So after 5 months i asked should I just do ID ME which i was told no because it isn't a identity issue but a social security issue. My case has been escalated over 5 times and was told to wait 4-6 weeks then 6-8 weeks, no conclusion. Recently I was told to complete an ID ME verification in which I was in awe because I asked should I have done this 4 months ago and was told no, but I did it anyway and was told to wait 15 days afterwards and that once I was verified I would be sent my money. Guess what? I waited over 15 days to call and be told they haven't received anything from ID ME, go figure. I was told that my case would be escalated once again and that it will now take 8 weeks for an conclusion. I contacted the commissioner on LinkedIn, the state senator office, ID ME has put in an escalation on my behalf to NJDOL and I have a state liaison working on my behalf and still nothing at this rate I probably wont get any funds until next April, maybe.

Horrendous. I have called EVERY DAY 20+ times a day. You skipped 2 weeks of my benifits. Not cool. Now nobody will contact me.

Questions & Answers

Unemployment says my claim is under review. Everything was great and then one day I went to claim my weekly and my claim was gone. All unemployment says is that the department of labor is reviewing it and can take up to 8 weeks. Any Ideas?

I was told by them that everyone is waiting because they were severely understaffed. My fiancé has not received payment since the beginning of the pandemic and I have not for 6 mos. due to an out of sequence payment they forgot to pay me I’ve been eligible for the latest extension since Feb. and nothing because they haven’t paid the out of sequence one since November when I brought it up to THEM. After a dozen escalations between us we are growing increasingly aware that this is not following any set standards of time for this service that we are used to. Essentially the whole state is on unemployment and they didn’t have enough of them to meet the demand we created by not working. If I could be back at my job I would be. They seem to be punishing those of us who are contributing to the employment shortage either directly or inadvertently. Sorry not sorry it’s just how I feel. Either that or the state doesn’t have the money and they are waiting until the next fiscal month or quarter.

I am in a family leave taking care of my ill mother ,6 weeks unpaid. Can I apply for assistance while I am off from work?

Will I be able to report a business owner for sexual harassment, verbal abuse, and basically treating his employees like slaves? If not who can I turn to?

Absolutely. Your employer is never to know the nature of your disability when you have FMLA. If so contact your local HR and reach out to a union if you have it. And I’d also reach out to the ACLU because DOL is slow as molasses rn. Best with them is to get a call back and make an escalation. Escalations must be resolved within 8 weeks or a specialist will call you. Long time on everything rn. Don’t be discouraged. All the best.
