Beautiful day use, but trains are loud when camping overnight

Beautiful almost forgotten small secluded campgrounds. We found it purely by accident and almost missed it, so glad we didn't! Many camp sites along the trails and river. No restrooms or potable water so be prepared for the real outdoors experience. Some in ground fire pits. Lots of awesome quartz crystal and other pretty stones for the rock hound to collect. Cant wait to go back there! Review Update July/August 2019 If you are going to stay overnight at this place, don't be too surprised if you get a visit during the night by a bear, we camped next to a creek that led to the river and sure enough, we actually had to sleep in our van that night cuz we heard heavy movement in the brush and the next day we found fresh bear tracks just a few feet away from our van and the unused tent. We also saw mountain lion tracks along with her Cubs tracks just on the other side of the creek from our camp.

Free river camping by a closed school named Indian Jim, previously James Lee. Campground is legal to stay, but not maintained and river keeps washing parts away. Train on one side and highway on the other, tall grass and minimal river access due to vegetation. Not recommend for large trailers. Great tough trails nearby. Minimal gold but decent fishing and swimming. Not a good launch for kayaks, head further up river.

Clean with okay water access. Day use seemed okay.
