This was the worst car rental experience I have very had. I rented a car for three days while mine was in the shop. When I got into the car, I noticed it had a funny smell. As I turned on the air, I realized that the odor was stale cigarette smoke and that the car hadn’t been cleaned. After 5 minutes I was feeling nauseated from it and developed a pounding headache. By the time I got home, I noticed that the odor had seeped into my clothing! There was no way I could take my child anywhere in this car or drive it to work and then smell like that. I called the location and asked for an exchange, and I was basically told that it was my problem to deal with and that if I needed an exchange I’d need to call around to other locations and pay any difference. The person on the phone was extremely rude and dismissive. After three hours calling locations and on hold with customer service, someone finally told me how to go about exchanging my vehicle and got me in contact with roadside assistance. I was then able to take it to the Ontario Airport location, and they were friendly and helpful but obviously annoyed at the Rancho store. Apparently this was their second dirty car exchange from Rancho that day! When I handed the car over to the person who checked mileage, she got in and said it smelled like a dirty Vegas hotel room. We then noticed that the car hadn’t even been vacuumed! I’m thankful for the people who did help me, but I really wish I had never had to deal with this headache (literal and figurative) in the first place.

I will never try to rent a car from them again. I wanted to place an order online but instead I called to book my rental (model y tesla) they said I was all booked in and needed my credit card info, sure no problem. A day before picking up the rental they called to say they don't have the model Y tesla but they have the model 3, the model 3 has less miles to charge and plus the panel on the car was messed up! So now it's not available for rent. Her words was im calling you before we charge you for the rental (a rental that they don't have.) Never try to rent from this Hertz and the only reason I'm sayin that is because it would just waist your time and credit card on there profile for nothing

I had to share my wonderful customer service experience. I was honestly expecting a terrible run around. I was already upset someone had hit my car and I had to put it in the shop for repairs. Golda at Hertz made the process so easy. She was absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend this rental service. I was in and out quickly with no hassle. The car worked great and I didn't have any issues upon return. Thank you again Golda I truly appreciate your help.

Walked in and found the employee asleep at the desk and seem uninterested to help me. He failed to call me to let me know the car I had reserved wasn’t in store. The car that was available was an additional $15 per day. I agreed to it and he said that it had to be a credit card. Provided picture of credit card and he said he could not transact the credit card because he had to swipe it. He was not willing to help me whatever. While trying to figure out what I’m going to do he says “I’m going home in 4 minutes.” So I was stuck walking home. Thanks Hertz on Foothill
