Oh my gosh, this food was the absolute BOMB!!! I saw this restaurant but never really ventured to try it; that is until in-laws came into town and wanted to take me out to eat for my birthday. The restaurant feels so lively and festive, with just enough busy to distract you, but just enough ambience to keep you comfortable. In layman's terms, it is like going to grandma's house to eat Sunday dinner and all the relatives popped over BUT everybody is civil! And just like grandma's, the food is by far the best Mexican food I've ever tasted!! But let me step back a bit, because I'm getting ahead of myself! First off, I must brag on the menu. I love that the menu had everything wonderfully sorted and the pictures of certain meal options made it a breeze to pick what you wanted! That is one pet peeve I had about other restaurants, especially in other languages, because I normally used the pictures and description to get an idea what the dish most likely will be without bugging the host/hostess with a thousand questions. Sample pictures depicted what a dish will look like for entire sections, making it easy to literally pick a meal based on picture alone! Now for the service. The hostess that served us was so intuitive and on point, that at one time I thought she was reading our minds or something. And when the food came out, it was so hot, it looked like it was pulled straight from the skillet to the plate!!! I squealed like a little schoolgirl seeing that food sizzling on the plate!! And with a man's mug of beverage to wash it down, I was ready to go to town! But oh, Las Palmas doesn't just get points for the food alone! Again, the atmosphere makes this restaurant THE PLACE TO EAT AT in Rome for high quality Mexican food AND experience!! As we ate, we had a party of customers that were obviously celebrating a birthday. They were loud and happy, and having a festive town. Suddenly, the hosts and hostesses crowd around their table, and with festive cheer, break out into happy birthday for the lucky patron! Instantly, the restaurant goes wild, with people all around clapping and hooting, and even the babies loudly screaming happy birthday! Yes, this restaurant serves amazing food, has wonderful decorations, and fantastic hosts and hostesses, but what sets it apart is that when you step into this restaurant, you're not a customer or a patron; you are family!

To the young man taking call in orders, please work on your phone etiquette. It sounded like I was inconveniencing you the entire time. I almost canceled the entire order purely for attitude. Also didn’t give me ready-time. I had to guess when to leave work to pick up. Management: Please train up your employees to be more attentive. Customers can pick up on this over the phone.

Disappointed with the "beans." They were so mushy and runny. Did not taste good either. Also I ordered a "little" cheese sauce on my enchilada instead of the enchilada sauce. Charged me $1.99 for cheese sauce. I thought I was substituting for enchilada sauce. If I wanted to pay for side of cheese sauce I'd have ordered it to eat with my chips. It was poured over the enchilada and it ran into the "beans" which only made them runnier and didn't improve the taste.

Went at the last two hours before they closed and they were very busy. The wait wasn't long and our server was great. He was very pleasant even tho they were busy. He never lost his cool.

The one on Shorter Ave. Behind chik-fil-a does. The one on Riverside Pkwy. has them on Mondays, and 1.99 burritos on Thursdays.
