Had a nice quiet day here with our family. Perfect place to paddle board and picnic. There was a little park for the kids and the water was super shallow. Only scary thing is that there are gators present in the waters so you have to be very alert if you’re swimming. We didn’t see any but a local told us there was one there the day before. Also, if you look along the trail to the beach you can see lots of creepy spiders! Super cool place to visit if you’re into mother natures wonderful creations!

Beautiful and big! Lots of different trails and activities to do here. From hiking, canoeing, kayaking, bike rentals to horse riding, its easy to spend a day of fun here. Restrooms are at certain locations, and there's concession stores somewhere in the park for snacks and drinks.

The luxury care-free camping was an incredible experience, from the smooth check-in/check-out process to the amenities to the beauty of the park itself. We chose to try this out particularly because it is a pet-friendly option and we are not “camping people” per se. The bed was very comfortable and even for being a true outdoors experience, we didn’t have any unwelcome creepy-crawlies. The bathrooms in the campsite area are extremely well-kept and showers get hot and have great water pressure. We saw red-tailed hawks, a kestrel, fox squirrels, a gator, lots of butterflies, and even a paw paw while hiking! Wish we could’ve stayed longer and can’t wait to go back.

Wow! Would love to come back and explore more. Only had time to check out one trail around Hammond Lake-- entrance to this trail where either to the right of the dock at a gate or inside the camping area @ an unmarked section next to a campsite (a few sites in from the parking at the dock)... that appears to be pretty open leading to a path... old orange groves and pretty views of the lake, nicely kept path through the well-kept grassy area. All the way around is a rather short walk! Next time-- we will camp, kayak, paddle-board, fish, maybe do some horse- back riding.... :) So much there to see and do. Only $5 entry fee just to spend the day exploring!
