It's not only a hair salon but it's also a place where they teach you how to cut hair like a short trade they teache you had to be a barber if you pass the test you get to get your license.
Guillermo Ledesma
As far as haircuts, you get what you pay for. Don't get me wrong, there are some talented barber's in the class, but their stay is limited. Thinking about enrolling? Think again! This is a private school, a business. One lady runs the whole place by herself. Everything from keeping stock, running the front desk, doing paper work, running errands.

Over friendly, if there's someone you particularly like cutting your hair, you can ask for them (provided they're there). And you can tip them for a well done job, if you so desire. There was one who I like, she was fast, efficient, and really knew her job. I would've gone wherever she went to after graduating but, unfortunately, she decided to go to college to persue her study in animation.

READ FIRST: If you are looking to enroll, this is by far the WORST school. First of all, there is no registration office nor financial aid office. One lady handles everything and she is always busy and extremely rude. She said to call back at certain times which i did multiple times and she was STILL BUSY. I called multiple days and every time i called, she was busy. Even showed up in person..yup..you guessed it..she was STILL BUSY and said she couldn't help me and immediately went back to working. Being the business owner and adult she was, it really surprised me that she had NO COMMUNICATION SKILLS whatsoever. Couldn't even tell me to scehdule an appointment when she was available. Did i mention she's also the teacher. And i think it's family operated because she has a very elderly woman who doesn't even speak english answer the phone (her mom). Very dirty/unmaintained/ghetto school. If i could give no stars as a review, i would. Friends i know who have attented, left because they said the teacher doesn't teach well, waste of money, and that people who have stayed, failed state board. Very low passing rate.

I graduated in 97 the owner back them was Daniel Keller. The owner Maria had barely graduated and its sad to read the reviws. And I havent been back since people should know that it is a school and all work its done by students.
You'll be better off trying to sell it at Abraham Friedman Barber School on Venice and Olive in downtown LA. Maria, the owner of Royal is boujie and would probably prefer her students purchase them new from her.
