Stayed for several years. I am convinced, the present management Essex is bad. Buildings are weak. Electrical wiring and heater are dangerous there.Apartment staff are indifferent. The previous property management for this apartment was good. Don't lease this apartment, it takes away your happiness. Don't get fooled by just seeing interior painting and kitchen.

All the one star reviews down here are very right about Sage Apartment, very poor management in all the aspects, and be prepared to give away your deposit, Sage management will add all the possible charge to the move-out statement to make sure you will not get a penny back.

Hi All, please don’t lease this apartment!! We booked an apartment almost 1.5 months before our move in date, we were denied the apartment ten days before move in date! We were told that they inspected the apartment and found it needs renovation which will take infinite time and will not be available for same rates! They don’t cooperate in giving another apartment with the same rates even though we were ready to move to a smaller unit neither do they provide temporary accommodation in some other unit for few days till the original apt which was booked get ready. So basically we had given notice to our existing community and now we’re homeless becoz of Sage Cupertino management and leasing team! There is no communication between the resident management team and leasing team and their seem to be miscommunication all the time!

I am usually satisfied with okayish service but Sage apartment management has sunk to another level. The rents are much higher than before. Maintenance in 300+ units are done by team of 3 members. They take 3 weeks or more for resolving service request. Water off is scheduled every week now. Apartments condition is deteriorating so much that the bedroom window net is ripped by 2 years old risking a fall from window to outside. Management only talks to resident via scheduled meeting. They tried to increase rent of some resident more than 5% which is not allowed due to rent control and rolled back after complaint. They are just taking advantage of people who want to be in Cupertino school district.

Select Essex communities offer homes that may be considered rent controlled. Availability and leasing terms are subject to change at any time. Essex also offers below-market rent (“BMR”) programs at select communities. While this is not a rental assistance program, BMR units may be available to residents who qualify based on their annual household income and the number of individuals living in their household. To determine if the community you are interested in offers BMR options, please contact the leasing office for more information.
This may be tough for the community to answer. You'll want to call the office and ask them directly. Good luck.
