Tunnels are very unique place to ride mountain bike. Del Mar Mesa trails connect to other trails I the area like Penesquitos Canyons lots of open space to explore.

Wilderness in our own backyard! Hey, San Diegans! This land has a good network of biking/hiking trails, and it's only 25 or 30 miles north of downtown San Diego, a straight shot up interstate 5. The trail called Tunnel Four is uniquely shaded by over-arching scrub oaks, much, much larger than the waist high scrub oaks found elsewhere, because these individual trees have not burned in ~100 years, they're easily 15 to 20 feet tall! It's a very special trail, enjoy it!
