Neat little place. Worth checking out if you are in the area. Beware of the long line for the ferry back to Galveston though. It's about an hour or > wait to get back, or a 3 hour drive to go around.

Great place to visit for historic stories. Very nice ferry ⛴️ drive from Galveston to Fort Travis Park. Get busy with the birds...Have fun!

Very nice place. There are pavilions with picnic tables. The fort is really neat to walk around. A great piece of Texas history. Really worth a stop. The restrooms were probably the worst I have ever seen. Check them out before you let the kids go in. I found a homeless guy in the men's restroom washing himself in the sink. But besides the restrooms being a nightmare it is a nice place to stop and take a walk around and maybe have a picnic.

Interesting history here! The signs around the park offer great levels of detail (despite the sun-bleaching). The area is also fantastic for viewing the bay entrance or for bird watching!

No. They lock the gate, I believe around 9pm. No overnight camping allowed.
No, but you can camp on the beach or at Roll Over pass. We are thrilled that you will be visiting our small piece of the world! Stay cool!
