I've tried many times over several months to get in touch with someone from Hunt County Pets Alive. We adopted a cat from PETCO in Greenville that came from HCPA. We cannot keep the cat. We were told at the time of adoption (because we specifically asked) that she got along fine with dogs, but that certainly is not the case here. The contract says that we have to return her to HCPA if things don't work out, but apparently they don't want her back...so why the statement in the contract? **UPDATE**She is back with her foster mom now, thanks, Linda!

Who can help me with a dog I found. I believe he may have been kept inside. I’ve had him since July 24th. The rescues in my area are of no help as I have been told they do not take strays. So, what’s the point in that?

Find a no kill shelter in the area. All rescues are full and bursting at the seams. Have you posted on lost pets sites or put up fliers in your area to see if owner can be found or find a new home?

Isn't there a law against keeping a dog on a chain in texas.? Down from my parents trailer there's this poor dog that's kept on a chain in a small area of there yard, this poor dog sits there crying all day usually what can be done

No it is not against the law in the state of Texas. Some cities may have their own laws restricting having a dog tethered tho. However, there are certain guidelines regarding tethering an animal in the state of Texas such as length of chain, current temperature, etc.
