*IMPORTANT* I don't normally write reviews, but I write this in hopes that I will help prospective tenants understand what they're getting into. It is a pretty nice area, easily accessible trail to both Deep Ellum, and White Rock Lake, and the occasionally functioning gate does keep it a pretty quiet place to live. AND THAT'S IT. I'm not going to criticize any particular person, but what I can say is that when my toilet lever is broken, and it requires replacement because it affects the flapper's performance, IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. Replacing the flapper is putting a band-aid on the bigger issue. Our kitchen sink has been overflowing, and I called the emergency maintenance line, and left a voice mail. I understand people can't come to my beck-and-call, but I would think an overflowing sink would be considered emergency? Even then, I scooped the water and made several trips to the bathroom. Smelling all that toxic grime, IS A HEALTH HAZARD. Yet, I was patient, and awaited for the maintenance crew to come and take a look. But a few days later, the same issue occurs. I admit, I did ask for help from the office near closing time... But isn't that what the emergency line is for anyways? Instead, I'm told, with attitude, that not much can be done, that the plumber has been contacted. I requested the plumber's contact information so I can make a call and keep in communication but the manager said she's unable to provide me with that information... So it amuses me, when I tell her, that I can't cook, clean, she responds with "you have two sinks". And I respond with "so you mean, I'm supposed to cook and wash dishes in the bathroom?"... I found her nonchalant attitude to be very non-professional. I would normally tell you, you get what you pay for, but the rent here is pretty crazy. Maintenance does little to no job with cleaning up the complex, management is nonchalant of issues brought up by tenants (I know because there are several who agree with me). To wrap it up, you don't get what you pay for. Expect to solve issues on your own, expect certain residents to play loud music during quiet hours (some of us have to work early in the morning), expect attitude from the manager (try not to get offended by it). Oh, and check the ground as you walk your doggo. Who knows, the little pup may step into teeny-tiny shattered glass and bleed. I don't like throwing people under the bus. I also don't want to come off as a Bob. But people need to know, that there are probably better complexes in the area that provides better management. At the end of the day, you pay all these extra fees, a big rent, and for what? To be neglected?

Ok, I never leave reviews but I felt like I had to warn people about this complex. This place went under a management change and has GREATLY declined in quality. Where do I even start? Unfinished construction, never answers the phone, the gate is always broken and just stays open. If you want to get a hold of anyone that works here, you have to call at least 7 times, and or maybe get lucky to get through to the corporate office. They painted all of the buildings white and the windows black but did a very cheap job. The paint is not even at all and overlaps the white paint in many parts. It has dripped and just looks very unpleasant and unprofessional. They put extremely dark shades over every window which blocks out 60% of sunlight. They have been doing construction in the apartment next to mine for almost a full month now. It has been loud. One day during the construction, I hear them drilling into the wall. Well, it turns out they drilled right into my own apartment, and there is a huge hole under the sink where I can very clearly hear the workers. This place used to be a great complex but has severely gone downhill since the new management took over. I would not recommend anyone living here anymore. A ton of the tenants have moved out as well, and I am constantly seeing moving trucks of people leaving.

The Tides at Lakewood (formerly known as Lakewood Greens), has received a top -to-bottom exterior renovation, as well as an interior renovation of the leasing office/clubhouse. The new look is clean and modern, and additional landscaping was added as well. The complex retains its enviable location in beautiful East Dallas near White Rock Lake. Tenison Golf Course (public), surrounds two sides of the complex, providing many apartments with uniquely-beautiful views over the lush, landscaped golf course (based on availability). On the northeast side of the property is the beautiful and well-maintained Santa Fe Trail, which connects with several other trails, including one that leads directly to White Rock Lake. There is an access point to the trail, conveniently located just steps from the complex’s front entrance. Also located at the front entrance is a DART bus stop and bench, which is served by DART’s Route #60, which runs north all the way to Garland, and south all the way to downtown Dallas. Taking the northern route towards Garland, there is a convenient stop within walking distance of the entrance to the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden. Just a bit further north is a convenient stop at historic Casa Linda Plaza, offering three corners full of shops, restaurants and services, including an Albertson’s grocery store. You can find my pictures highlighting many of the renovations that were recently completed, under the “Updates“ tab. NOTE: This review addresses only the physical look and location of the property, and does not reflect the quality of management, maintenance or service at the property, which can vary greatly depending on many factors.

Current tenants here! We moved in on January 9th and have had a such a great experience! The apartment were so cozy and colored and have had no problems with the management, they were always so tentative. We had a great time with the living situations of Lakewood Greens...up until the new management came in. Since the new management "Tides at lakewood" we've have been double charged, and forced into some contract with a third party towing company and threatened to be towed even when we have just a couple of weeks left. We've had such a hard time to even get a hold of anyone who works here, to help out with our broken lights and to just talk about being double charged. Its not worth moving in anymore, I miss the old Lakewood Greens....
