We love ❤️ Michie Tavern, been going there over 15 years! Great food and friendly staff. They also have tavern tours and great gift shops!

This is definitely a tourist trap. This is a buffet, where they bring you more food after your initial plate that you make yourself. The pricing would be somewhat okay if the food was actually good. They charge for drinks and dessert, so it's not an all inclusive buffet. We were with older members of our family, which they stated they liked the food. However, the rest of us did not like most of the food. These were good: Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, ice cream, peach cobbler, root beer float. The pulled pork was okay. Not good: baked chicken, green beans, black eyed peas, rolls, biscuits, corn bread. There was other food on the buffet line that we didn't even try as it did not look good. The staff was friendly and the waitress was attentive, which is why this a two star review and not one. The atmosphere was somewhat interesting, but the food ruined it. They bait you into walking through the stores on site if you have children to get some chocolate candy at the end.

Amazing food and atmosphere. Scotch John dessert was delicious. Peach cobbler was tasty. Charlie our server was a great guy with tons of spirit!

A very unique experience. Love the southern food and ambiance. The ordering style is stingy which is good for not wasting but difficult for not being able to pick and choose how much you want. Price is also quite high but that’s probably a given especially during COVID. Will come back in the future.

No, but they have reasonable prices and bottomless drinks.

They do celebrate birthdays there. If you want to bring a cake I would call but I am sure they would not mind.
i would suggest calling them to find out for sure
It can be difficult but it isn't a long walk. The parking lot is two aisles and the tavern is on one end. It is all an up hill walk and depending on which end of the parking lot you are parked, it can be challenging. Once you arrive at the tavern you have to navigate some stairs. If you're healthy and mobile it isn't difficult but if you're not it will be challenging. There is however room to drop off people and then park.

We asked this question during our recent visit and were told there would not be any different food for Thanksgiving.... just the usual fare they always serve.
They have private events at night for rehersale dinners or corporate events. They have the Yuletide dinner the first or second weekend in December. You have to buy tickets to the event. The building is all decked out is Christms decorations and the fare is much different. A buffet is still served.
No, I wouldn't take a dog into the tavern. A true service dog should be ok, only because of the Extensive Training. I wouldn't consider taking my well-behaved pet.
Yes, they are open 7 days a week, except for Christmas and New Years.
I don't know I was on a field trip with my grandson and my share was paid for me. Sorry. The food and service was excellent I can tell you that.
We did not need one. Once we got there we were asked to wait outside the door and a hostess would be with us shortly. There is more seating once you get your food to the left when you first walk in to the building. I wish I had know before we sat down. Due to Covid there are limited seats. But no reservations were needed. We went about two weeks ago.
