Beautiful yet brutal trail. We went up to Upper Mohawk Lake and beyond, there are times that the trail gets sketchy and seems to disappear. But overall a good hike and beautiful scenery.

For someone that's spent most of their life surrounded by flat landscapes and concrete, this was a challenging but manageable trail through varied terrain with remarkable views. Tips: Wear good shoes, use bug spray, and bring plenty of water. Related to the last point, the closer you get to the timber line, the harder it is to find a discrete place to give back to mother nature.

This was a gorgeous hike! With beautiful and stunning views, not very difficult trails, and conveniently located trailheads, the Spruce Creek Trail does not let down! Some of the most notable views are mountaintop lakes, breath-taking peaks, and vibrant pine filled trails. A must do if in the area!

This seems like a pretty popular hiking place which makes sense being so close to Breckenridge. The trail itself was really nice. I recommend snowshoes for this time of year (late December). The first part of the trail was decently packed and you can manage fine without, but higher up, especially beyond the first lake, it gets a little more difficult without snowshoes or after a fresh snowfall. Aside from that, it's your standard out and back with the incline almost totally on the front half of the trip. Definitely recommend.

A car can make it pretty far, the biggest concern are the big pothole like pits on the road
