Awesome views. Definitely a busy hike and trailhead. We went Saturday morning mid summer and the main parking lots was pretty busy at 8am. When we returned to the car around noon the lot and all the way up and down the road were packed.

Hiked to the lower lake on Oct 30 on mostly dry compacted snow. Blue sky day with no wind. Wore a hoodie, jeans and indoor soccer shoes. 2hrs 20 mins up to the lower lake at a casual pace. Didn’t try the upper lake because the snow was too high to walk through in shoes. Views from the lower lake were great. Highly recommend this if you’re in breck. If I did it again I’d take a bit more than an apple and 750mL of water.

One of the best hikes I’ve been on in my life! Epic views and extraordinary workout. Little under 7 miles round trip and I recommend taking the trail out and in vs the gravel road.
