I pulled into the bay as instructed. A young skinny kid was guiding me. I was rudely told to pop the hood because, I should already know what he wanted me to do next I guess. I am longtime friends with the manager and some of the staff. They have this new “stay in your vehicle” policy. Having worked on some of the equipment and being friends with many of the staff I stepped out of the vehicle as I always have in the past. I was immediately yelled at by the skinny kid to get back in my vehicle as if he was a cop and I was breaking the law. Told him no it’s OK I’m going inside. The kid yelled at me three more times telling me to get back in the vehicle and eventually slammed the hood with a great amount of force. Fortunately he did not dent it, but easily could have easily cause body damage. Valvoline express care is no longer a friendly atmosphere.

Unlike every other Valvoline, this place doesn't allow you to bring your own oil, which is obviously so they can overcharge you for it. Not only is this dirty but it means you can't use Mobil or whatever your preferred brand is. It also means that if you use an unusual viscosity oil, they won't have it and there's no way to have the oil changed here. My car uses 5W-50, which Valvoline doesn't even make, so it's not like they're ever going to stock it either.
